Procedure : Immediate Dental Implant

Mrs. Lutz is a friendly lady from Kentucky who is in her 80s. She visited Dr. Hank at the Sarasota Dentistry offices for a toothache in the lower right of her mouth. A dental x-ray revealed a failing dental implant that was placed by another dentist. The implant was removed and replaced with a bone graft.

She returned for a complete exam since she really liked our office and her procedure didn't hurt. The complete exam revealed the tooth shown here, fractured to the gum-line, along with a couple of areas of periodontal disease. Mrs. Lutz said she didn't think she could have another dental implant because she had 6 of them and 3 had failed. We spent some time educating her about dental implants and the importance of a proper bite to maintain the dental implant.

Since she was getting low on places to chew, she decided to give us a chance with another dental implant. She's now raving to all her friends that she has found the best dentist. She is overjoyed, has no pain, and her periodontal disease was arrested with laser-assisted scaling and root planing. She will continue periodontal cleanings every three months and is scheduled back in at our dentist's office in Sarasota for her next visit.
