Procedure : Upper Arch Porcelain Crowns

Mr. D presented the Sarasota Dentistry office with his chief concern -- multiple failing dental bondings. He was also very adamant that he would not wear braces. He said he had a horrible experience with braces. We discussed the Invisalign and explained it's advantages and disadvantages.

A complete examination was performed and Mr. D was given the option of re-bonding his teeth, or porcelain crowns on all of the upper teeth and 2 lower premolars. He decided he wanted to go with the stronger, better looking porcelain crowns and he decided to try Invisalign on the bottom arch. A diagnostic wax-up was fabricated at our local Sarasota laboratory and Mr. D returned to review the proposed teeth shape and size. He was very happy with the design and scheduled to have the crowns prepared under conscious sedation.

In just a couple of hours, he left with new temporary acrylic crowns that looked incredible! They were white and straight and functioned perfectly for a short time. Three weeks later, Mr. D returned to the office for the fitting of his permanent porcelain crowns, made of IPS e.max porcelain. The fit was perfect, so they were permanently bonded.

These new porcelain crowns were beautiful, strong and even better than the temporaries since they have a glassy smooth finish. He was very appreciative and felt he couldn't have had a better dental experience.
