Dental Implant Smile Case #3

State-of-the-art technology with exceptional results. Mrs. C. was seen for an emergency dental exam with a painful broken tooth. Digital X-ray revealed a severe fracture of the tooth, rendering it nearly beyond restoration. We discussed the only option for saving the tooth – orthodontic extrusion and a root canal therapy. She really didn’t want to go through any extensive treatment so she chose to have the tooth removed. She also was asked to decide between a dental implant vs. bridge or partial denture.

Digital 3-D dental x-rays revealed enough bone for an immediate dental implant. The surgery was performed using conscious dental sedation. The extraction, dental implant and temporary crown were completed in less than 2 hours. She returned for a post-op visit in a couple of weeks – everything healed normally. She then returned 4 months later for a final impression to make the permanent crown. The permanent crown has been in for 2 years now and the patient didn’t suffer even one day!
